Rio is just a babe, still learning the basics. He is mix breed and will be a big boy! He will adapt well into just about any home. He is current with vetting (will need 2 more vaccines at 16 weeks), microchipped and ready for a family of his own! Crate training: Rio sleeps in the kennel every night. He goes to sleep almost immediately by now. We put a sheet or blanket over the crate to create a cozier place. He makes it at least 6 hrs. He usually wakes us up at about 6am to go out. Rio frequently uses the crate as a place to nap or take a break. Potty training: Rio is doing well, we’ve been as consistent as possible with going out MANY MANY times per day. Every day he does better. We have a busy house with four kids but we are all recognizing his cues more and more. I’ve started putting a training pad by the front door just in case, he actually uses it! Personality: Rio is pretty mellow so far. He loves attention and praise and training with lots of treats. He seems very eager to do a “good job” we’ve been working on sit, come, down, and his name. He likes to be close to the family but is also not shy about exploring so we’ve given him SO many rewards when he comes. He has met a few other dogs and has done very well. (No cats, but many kids) He’s shy at first and then could play forever. He’s really teething now so we’ve been working on no bite, and providing things he can chew on. Rio just goes with the flow so far. He was around fire works over the 4th and was totally unaffected. He jumps off the dock and locks to swim! He’s nervous about vacuuming, but not overly. Rio is silly and tolerant. I have a feeling he will be a more “alpha-y” personality in the best way. He is a DELIGHT! Everyone who has met him loves him.
