Cooper was previously adopted as a puppy and then returned to the shelter, only months later, for being a typical energetic puppy. There are no words. It's absolutely heartbreaking to see such a young dog so broken and defeated. He's only 1 year old. Cooper is safe now.  He's in a loving foster home now, that is giving him all the space and time he needs to learn that humans can be nice. After looking at his photos, he is likely a GSD/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. The stripe of fur along his spine grows in the opposite direction of the rest of his body, a unique characteristic known in the Ridgeback breed.

Cooper is shy around people, but LOVES other dogs! He will need a home with another dog to continue to show him that there are good humans in this world! He will hang out with his foster family in the living room, but isn't quite ready to cuddle yet. He will need someone that will not force him to interact with people.  He is so sweet, great with kids and loves to play chase around the house with them. When he has had enough, he retreats to his kennel.  He loves to play in the snow and cuddle with his foster siblings.  Cooper is available to the right home - but we are in no rush to move him again. Not until the most absolute perfect match finds him.
