Looking for a medium-sized sports dog who’s also a lap dog? Thistle is your girl! She is enthusiastic, eager to please, and loves to do whatever you’re doing. She wants a house where she can run, jump, and climb over all sorts of things, and where you’ll provide her lots of fun toys to fetch and chew. She is learning some foundation sports skills in foster, and would love to go to a home that would let her play her favorite games.

Like most teenage Shepherds, she needs help with walking on a loose leash. However, she works very well for praise, attention, food, ball, and other toys, so she’s easy to teach. Thistle can already sit, drop toys, and fetch!

Thistle is a sweetheart who melts on every new person she meets for hugs and kisses. She hasn’t met children yet in her foster, but would likely do well with them.

She’s friendly and excitable towards other large dogs, so she could be too much for a shy or senior dog. She acts similarly towards cats and small animals. She would love to have a playmate or two... if they can keep up!

At the shelter, Thistle guarded against a hand in her food bowl by freezing and growling. She hasn’t displayed any issues in foster, but a good home for Thistle should still continue teaching her that there’s no need to be nervous. In foster, she is happy to trade her toys, chews, or food bowl for something else fun.

Because of her high energy and drive, she will require a German Shepherd experienced home,

She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and heartworm negative. 

Her adoption fee is $400.00 plus tax.
