Syrah was witnessed being dumped on the side of the road. For days, she stayed where she had been left, waiting for her owners to come back for her….they never did.
The Retrievers were contacted and Syrah was humanely live trapped before winter arrived in full force.
She has been in her foster home for a few weeks now while we get to know her. Here is what we have learned so far, she is absolutely gorgeous! Syrah is skittish and takes time warming up to new people! But can you blame her, the people she trusted the most, abandoned her. Leaving her to fend for herself in the middle of nowhere!
Syrah is gentle, but will try to run if given the chance so she will need a fenced in yard. Syrah will need a quiet, calm home, preferably with older kids or no kids. She is learning how to play and thinks it’s pretty cool. She barks at kitties, but keeps her distance because they are ‘weird’ Her foster home has 2 small/medium sized dog and is fine with them. She hasn’t been exposed to dogs her size while with us, so we aren’t sure how she’ll be.
Syrah is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and does well in a kennel. Car rides are scary so she needs to be kenneled while in a car.
we just love this girl and know the perfect, calm, quiet, respectful home is out there waiting for her, to guide her and teach her what trust is and that not all people are bad and will abandoned her.
