Draco is an absolute sweetheart. He loves spending time with his people. He gives lots of love and he loves to be loved. He still has a bit of “puppy” in him: toddler napping, taking and sometimes chewing on things that aren’t toys, jumping on people, & going potty in the house. He still needs gentle reminders, like a child, but listens well when given verbal commands. He takes cues well from the resident cats to leave them alone, but will test the resident dogs’ patience a little more, sometimes to the point where the verbal command “leave it” will need to be utilized; which he responds well to. He interacts well with the children in the house; ages ranging from 5-11. He is still learning to not jump as he feeds off of their energy while playing with them, but he is gentle and not mouthy. He also responds well to verbal commands from the children when they tell him “no” or “down” when he becomes too much for them. Draco sleeps in his kennel every night. This has never been an issue. He knows the command “kennel” and will walk right in. He is also kenneled when no one is home. On average, he is kenneled up to five to six hours a day between potty breaks during the day. He has never had a potty accident in his kennel. He eats twice per day. He either eats in his kennel out of a bowl with the door closed or out of a wobble Kong, which he enjoys the entertainment. He loves to go on walks. We are still working on leashing pulling. He loves to sniff and brush up against everything he can. When we first got Draco, he was absolutely terrified of car rides and insisted on riding on my lap, whining the entire time. Our resident dog is helping him overcome his fear of car rides. She automatically jumps in the back of my vehicle, and now he wants to follow her up into the vehicle. He tries to jump into the vehicle with her, but is still too short and needs a little boost. He no longer whines and just enjoys the ride.
